Our department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, especially in adult patients.

Jaroslava Dolezalova, M.D., PhD.

She graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of Charles University in Prague in 1972. From university graduation until the year 2003, she worked at the eye department of the Teaching Hospital Královské Vinohrady, eye departments of the General Teaching Hospital in Prague, the eye department of the Teaching Hospital in Pilsen and the eye department for children and adults in Prague-Motol.

She graduated from level I postgraduate specialty training in ophthalmology in 1977, and from level II postgraduate specialty training in ophthalmology in 1983. She defended her PhD thesis entitled "Surgical Treatment of Old Retinal Detachment" in 1992. In 1977, she began working in the team of Dr. Ivan Karel, which focused on retinal and vitreous surgery, and she remains devoted to this issue today. She has worked in the Private Eye Clinic of JL since 2004.

Retinal and vitreous disorders are the topics of many of her scientific publications and lectures in scientific congresses both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She has taken part in the postgraduate education of physicians as a lecturer. She was a co-researcher of two grant projects of the Ministry of Health and one grant project from GACR (Czech Science Foundation) regarding vitreoretinal issues.

She is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society, a founding member and member of the committee of the Czech Vitreoretinal Society, and a member of the European Vitreoretinal Society.
