Sanatorium profile
REPROMEDA Sanatorium is a centre for reproductive medicine continuing good Brno traditions. All the health professionals of the Sanatorium belong to the prominent Brno School of Assisted Reproduction, whose major achievement was the birth of the first "test-tube child" in Central and Eastern Europe as early as in 1982.
The Sanatorium's top professionals gained their experience at leading centres abroad and have published numerous papers in both Czech and foreign journals.
The Sanatorium is a very well equipped centre included in the public network of health care facilities and has contracts with all the health insurance companies in the Czech Republic. It is the only barrier-free centre in this country, thus enabling the care of couples in which either or both partners have a spinal cord injury or other locomotion disabilities.
The centre is accredited according to the standards of the Section for Assisted Reproduction of the Czech Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and meets all the criteria of personnel selection and technical equipment. In 2001 the certification of ISO 9001 standard was achieved, which guarantees high professionalism and perfect monitoring of the conditions of all working procedures.
At REPROMEDA Sanatorium, the latest infertility treatment procedures are carried out, including Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (the detection of a possible genetic defect before embryo transfer). By using this method applied at our centre, the first two children in Central and Eastern European countries were born in 2001.
