Associate Prof. Jozef Valky, CSc.

- is one of the leaders of Slovak IVF and a former chairman (currently board-member)
of the Slovak Reproductive Health Section in the Slovak Gynaecological Society. Doc. Valky graduated in general medicine in Bratislava, specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before completing his MD in 1966. Throughout his professional career, Doc. Valky has been involved in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, and has focused his activities in this field for the last 15 years, studying in the USA, Sweden, Germany and the UK. Prior to establishing Iscare in 1999, Doc. Valky held the position of head physician of the 1st gynaecological clinic of the Bratislava University Hospital, where he also established the IVF unit in which the first Slovak IVF baby was born in 1991. This tenure was broken during 1990-1, when Doc. Valky spent one year in Kuwait, following Desert Storm. Doc. Valky's interests also include laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, fields where he is among the pioneers in the Slovak Republic. He is an active member of ESHRE.
