Sweating as such allows the body to regulate its temperature. However, under certain circumstances it just indicates other difficulties your body is trying to fight. Excessive sweating may be the result of genetic predispositions but quite frequently, it develops due to other circumstances of your daily life. Chinese medicine distinguishes two reasons which cause excessive sweating and that is either body energy surplus or lack of body energy.

Body of a person with lack of physical activity, accustomed to eat goulash with six dumplings, suffers from energy surplus. As the body is not able to process such inflow of energy, it needs to get rid of it. It starts sweating.

Body of a woman with cold hands and feet, suffering form lack of energy after giving birth, starts sweating. It is difficult for such body to sustain body cohesion, that is to keep the pores closed and water starts to leak. A woman in menopause after many years of regular period and giving birth several times has run out of life-giving energy called Yin and sweats mainly during night.

In Chinese medicine, we are able to tame the problems using herbal medicaments the names of which already indicate their use: Feast of five tastes (Hostina pěti chutí), Harmony from peach grove (Harmonie z broskvového háje). These herbal medicaments are to be used for a long period of time and are able to eliminate the sweating completely.
