Analgesic currents are currents with the frequency around 100 Hz. They induce a higher secretion of endorphins, substances inherent to body, which reduce the threshold of pain and evoke the state of euphoria. Therefore the application of these currents has an analgesic effect – it acts against pain like a pill.
